Micki Shelton (aka S. Michele McFadden) grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, before moving to Southern California where she received her B.A. and M.A. degrees and studied playwriting with John Glore, Associate Artistic Director at South Coast Repertory (Costa Mesa, CA). In 1994, her first full-length play, Circles, was one of six plays included in Ashland, Oregon’s 2nd Annual New Plays Festival.

Female Playwright Micki Shelton is a Resident Playwright at Theatre Artists Studio in Scottsdale, AZ, and a revered member of the Prescott, AZ arts community. In 2007, along with Charissa Menefee of Prescott College, she co-founded “Tomorrow’s Theatre Tonight,” a monthly series of works-in-progress read in downtown Prescott. She is past Board President of Arizona Classical Theatre (2004–2006), served for five years (2002-2006) on the management team of the MAD Linguist, on the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Prescott 2050 Visioning Group, Arts and Cultural Affairs Working Group (2008–2009), and on the board of the Prescott Area Arts and Humanities Council. Otherwise, she’ll be at home working on a new play or writing one of the many textbooks she writes to help her pay the bills.
